Theme: OUR FATHER! HE CARES!
THE POWER OF PRAYER
THE TWO ESSENTIALS - CONFIDENCE AND PERSEVERANCE
You cannot say the Lord's Prayer, and even once say "I".
You cannot say the Lord's Prayer, and even once say "MY".
Nor can you pray the Lord's Prayer, and not pray for another.
For when you ask for daily bread you must include your brother.
For others are included in each and every plea:
From the beginning to the end of it, it doesn't once say "ME".
We relate to God as a Human Family.
ADORE - YOU ARE TOO GREAT, O GOD TO BE UNDERSTOOD
CONTRITION - I AM SORRY I DON'T LIVE UP TO MY DIGNITY
AS A CHILD OF GOD.
THANKS - I THANK YOU FOR THE WONDER OF MY BEING
AND MY FAMILY
SUPPLICATION - KEEP ME AND MY LOVED ONES IN YOUR
PRAYER IS A CONVERSATION WITH GOD!]
You talk to people on the telephone and don't see them on the other end of the line. Well, talking to God is like talking on the telephone. He's on the other end but you can't see Him. He is listening though! Yes He's a listening God!
ST LUKE'S CHILDREN'S MORNING PRAYER
"Father in Heaven, you love me, you are with me night and day, I want to love you always in all I do and say. I'll try to please you, Father. Bless me through the day. Amen"
ST. LUKE'S CHILDREN'S NIGHT PRAYER
"Goodnight, God, I'm going to bed. Work is over, prayer is said. I am not afraid of night; you will guard me till morning light. Amen".
FATHER JOHN'S DAILY PRAYER.
THANK YOU, FATHER!
Take time to laugh; it is the music of the soul: take time to think; it is the source of power: take time to play; it is the source of perpetual youth: take time to read; it is the source of wisdom: take time to pray; it is the greatest power on earth.
HE'S NOT A BELL BOY!
There's something exquisitely luxurious about room service in a hotel. All you have to do is pick up a phone and someone is ready to bring you breakfast, lunch dinner - just name it, And that's the idea some people have of prayer - God is a bellhop! - PRAYER is about connecting. Like 'plugging in' - it won't work unless we connect!
AND TO BEGIN THE HOLS. WITH A SMILE!
A little boy and his brother went to visit their grandma. As the little boy said his night prayers, he was shouting at the top of his voice, "Please, God, send me a bicycle and a tool set". His brother said "Not so loud. For crying out loud, God isn't deaf" The little boy replied, "Yes, I know, but grandma is"!
And my two favourites:
You go on your holidays to forget everything - then when you open your suitcase you find you have!
Take twice the money you've got and unpack half of the clothes!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!
PS Always remember - there's not argument equal to a happy smile!
