    THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY

GOLD - OUR KING      FRANKINCENSE - OUR GOD       MYRRH - OUR SAVIOUR

The Story of the Magi is so colourful we may fail to see its true meaning. Three wise men from the East dressed in majestic robes and bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. They had travelled from unknown lands following a star and were filled with delight in finding the newborn child.

The wise men represent all of us. We are all on a journey through life. THEY HAD A STAR AND WE HAVE OUR FAITH. We too have found the SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD; “Lo within a manger lies, He who built the stary skies.”

And so our prayer – today is the prayer requested by Bishop John.

“Stay with us Lord on Our Journey.”

“O bread of heaven beneath this veil

    Thou dost my very Godconceal”

“Sweet Sacrament Divine hid in thine earthly home”

Goodhead Here in Hiding Whom do I adore”

YES WE TOO HAVE FOUND HIM

OUR UNIVERSE IS NOT RULED BY VAGUE ASTROLOGICAL OR SPIRITUAL POWERS, BUT BY THE LIVING GOD WHO CREATES AND SUSTAINS EVERYTHING THERE IS.

Yes a God who is Our Father, who loves and cares for his creation – if we let him!

    THE NEW YEAR

As the New Year starts and the old year ends,

There's no better time to make amends,

For all the things we sincerely regret.

And wish in our hearts we could somehow forget.

We all make mistakes, for its human to err,

But no one need ever give up in despair. So learn from the past, look to the future and live in the present. Yes, Happiness is good health and a bad memory.

“To know God is to love Him” (St Augustine)

And the more we know Jesus, God made man, the more we love Him.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY

I am the New Year and 1 come to you free and unstained, fresh from the hand of God.

Each day, to you, a precious pearl is given, that you must string upon the silver thread of life.

I give to you twelve months: the days for work and play, the nights for peaceful slumber.

All that I have, I give with love unspoken, all that I ask, you keep your faith unbroken.

And a few ‘Golden Oldies’ for the new year

Yes, I have my faults but being wrong isn't one of them!

I told my Dad I needed an encyclopaedia for Christmas and he said I'd just have to walk like everyone else!

If quitters never win and winners never quit, what fool came up with "Quit while you're ahead"?

If men & women evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?!!! I'm only asking!

It has been announced that 10 million of us will live to be a hundred. I've already written to the Queen in advance thanking her for my telegram

Birthdays are good for your health the more you have the longer you live!

If you live to be a hundred you've got it made – very few people die past that age!

PS: School reopens tomorrow at 5 to 9

            HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY !
