    GAUDETE – REJOICE SUNDAY

Why? “Say To All the Faint Hearts, ‘Courage, Do Not Be Afraid.  Look your God Is Coming To Save You!”

It is vitally important that we realise He has come Not to condemn us but to Help and Save Us.

“Sacred infant all divine, what a tender love was thine.

Thus to come from highest bliss, down to such a world as this.”

He Leaves all his glory behind

To be born and to die for mankind

With grateful beasts His cradle chooses.

    Thankless Man His Love Refuses”

Times haven’t changed – His Love Refuses!

St. Teresa sums it up so beautifully:  “A God Who Becomes So Small Could Only Be MERCY and LOVE.”

Yes, Happiness is being Loved – Especially by GOD!

Today’s Gospel – St. John the Baptist

“Are you the one who is to come?”  You must make up your own minds.  Surely these miracles of healing are proof enough!  “Greater than he (John the Baptist) has never been seen.”  Why?  Because the courage of his convictions cost him his life.

A quick funny – A worn out teacher at the end of a long Christmas term, “What a class.  I’ve taught you everything I know & you’re still a bunch of idiots.”!!!

    An Advent Prayer to End

“All powerful Father, we await the healing power of Jesus your son.  Let us not be discouraged by our weakness.  Help us to give your love to ALL we meet.  Amen.”

    HAPPY ADVENT!
