GAUDETE (REJOICE) SUNDAY
YOUR GOD HIMSELF IS COMING TO SAVE YOU
We are about to celebrate the greatest event in the history of the world, the Birth of Our Saviour. Yet just as his birth went unnoticed it is the same today.
“LO WITHIN A MANGER LIES HE WHO BUILT THE STARRY SKIES”
BE HAPPY - YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD!
“He leaves all his glory behind to be born to die for mankind. With grateful beasts his cradle chooses. Thankless man his love refuses.
AN ADVENT PRAYER
“All powerful Father, we await the healing power of Jesus your Son. Let us not be discouraged by our own weakness as we prepare for His coming on Christmas Day.”
“A God who becomes so small could only be mercy and love.”
YES WE’VE BEGUN POPE FRANCIS’ YEAR OF MERCY
AND GEMS FROM THE CHILDREN
“Christmas is like a big surprise party God gave the word”! (Harry 8)
“Everything sparkles at Christmas, especially people.”! (Maureen 8)
“I wish people could be nice all year long and not just at Christmas”! (Nicola 8)
and so say all of us!
And to end as we began –
“I want you to be happy, always happy” (St Paul)
“Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I possess.” (Ken Dodd)
Fr Patrick Bon voyage! After 2 years Fr Patrick goes home for a 3½
week holiday next Friday. His Mum is beautiful – he must get his looks from his Dad!! Don’t forget to come back.
