"... ALL MANKIND SHALL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD"

Yes, OUR GOD is coming to HELP US - NOT TO CONDEMN US!

"But we don't need God". "Don't we? So why is the world in such a mess?"

We like to think that we are totally INDEPENDENT:

Well, we're NOT!

"Without ME you can do nothing"

LIKE IT OR NOT, WE NEED GOD!

Yes, our God is a God of LOVE, COMPASSION AND MERCY.

HE IS OUR FATHER.

Sadly, it's the same old story - PRIDE: "I will not serve"

So they reject both HIM AND his values.

Christmas is the Feast of LOVE - God's love for His creation.

HE WAS ONE OF US.

He was born as little children are and lived as little children do, so remember that the Saviour was once a child like you.

And remember that He lived on earth in the midst of sinful men, and the problems of the present existed even then ...

He was ridiculed and laughed at in the same heartbreaking way that we who fight for justice are ridiculed today...

And in the end He was betrayed and even crucified, for He was truly one of us - He lived on earth and died...

So do not heed the sceptics who are often heard to say, "What does God up in Heaven know of things we face today?...

For Our Father up there in Heaven, is very much aware of our failures and shortcomings and the burdens that we bear...

So whenever you are troubled, put your problems in God's Hand, for He has faced all problems and He will understand.

And the final word with the children - as always!

"Santa Claus, why come down the chimney? What's wrong with our front door?"!

"Santa Claus, what do you do the rest of the year? Are you an executive or

    something?"!

"Santa Claus, do you have any children? Will they take over when you retire?"!

"Santa Claus, are you getting tired of the same old red suit? I would be if I was you"!

KIDS, you can't beat them - often enough!!!

HAPPY ADVENT

PS. It was Fr. Shaun's birthday yesterday - I wonder how old he is? He must be getting on a bit! He's a great GUY - pity he wasn't born on November 5th!!!
