FATHER’S DAY

Just a COMMERCIAL GIMMICK, MAYBE, BUT,

What about the dads who cheerfully change nappies,

Who read the same bedtime stories to their toddlers night after night. Who stand for hours in all weathers watching the boys play football,

Who listen attentively and uncritically to their anguished teenager?

Surely on just one day in the year, a chosen card and an extra hug?

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

2ND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION DAY

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR GIRLS & BOYS WHO TODAY MAKE THEIR FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

I am the living bread from heaven ... will live for ever”

God’s greatest gift- Jesus on the cross, Jesus in Holy Communion.

This is my body broken for you... my blood shed for you.”

What I am is God’s gift to me. What I become is my gift to God.

Thank you Kevin Lyons, our teachers & our catechists, without them today’s celebration would not be possible.

FATHER’S DAY GEMS

  • Never feel remorse about what you have thought about your wife – she thought much worse things about you!
  • “He’ll regret it to his dying day if he lives that long.” – Angry Wife!
  • The luckiest man in the world was Adam – he had no mother-in-law!
  • Judge  “Have you ever been cross-examined before?” Man in the dock, “Yes your honour, I’m a married man.!”
  • Becoming a father is easy – what is difficult is being a father!
  • “When I was 17 my father was so stupid that he embarrassed me. When I was 21 I was surprised at how much the old man had learned in the years”

AND A FINAL PEARL!!!

A father and son were out fishing. The boy says “dad, how do boats float?””I don’t know”, replies dad. The boy asks, “How do fish breathe?” Dad “I don’t know” The boy again “Why is the sky blue.” and dad “I don’t know” The boys says “Dad I hope you don’t mind me asking you all these questions?” “Of course not” replies dad “If don’t ask questions how will you ever learn anything.”!!!!!!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

IT’S BRILLIANT!
