Because he is not one of us we tried to stop him”.  “But you must not stop him”.

All good comes from God the Father and doing good is NOT the exclusive right of Christians.  There is so much good in ALL other faiths.  To suggest that they can do no good is surely outrageous.

The language is HEBREW and simply emphasises the seriousness of scandal and BAD EXAMPLE.  Whatever causes it CUT IT OUT.  SCANDAL DEMANDS DECISIVE ACTION.

We in the Western World are faced with complex problems, world debt, hunger, under-development and corruption.

What can we do about the gap between those who have and those who have not?  There is no easy solution.  We have a problem of obesity, the need to diet, while many in the world are STARVING.  We see the refugees from Syria, men, women and children fleeing in fear and carrying their few possessions in bundles.  Then we see the massive expensive warships, the sophisticated fight planes, tanks and missiles that cost millions.  Where do we start to face such immense problems?

Clearly we need to care for others and not close our eyes to their desperation.  Bu again, where do we start?

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY at least gives us the opportunity and seeing and experiencing the plight of these poor people.

THANKS, as always, for your Incredible Generosity!

AND A THOUGHT! Luxuries – something you don’t really need – but can’t do without!

“Atheists are people who don’t believe in God.  I don’t think there are any in Salford.  At least there aren’t any who come to Church!!”

“If you don’t believe in God, besides being an Atheist, you will be very lonely!!”

“Mum” asked Billy in front of the guests, “is the pudding not good for me OR is there not enough to go round?”

Dad told young Freddy that he must eat well to grow tall.  “Are you going to grow any bigger dad?”  “No son.”  “Then why do you keep eating?!!!

Scientists tell us that we are what we eat.  Nuts then must be a bigger part of our diet than is commonly thought!!!

“Dear God,

So far today I have not gossiped, or lost my temper, I have not been selfish, greedy, grumpy or over indulgent.

I have not told anyone to mind their own business and stay out of mine.

But in a few minutes, lord, I am going to get out of bed and I need all the help I can get!

“Dear God,

Please take care of my daddy, my mummy, my brother, my sister, my doggie and me, God.  And please take care of yourself ‘cause if anything happens to you, we’re gonna be in a big mess!!! Amen.”
