“THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY INTO HEAVEN
Lourdes 25th March 1858, the Feast of the Annunciation.
“Who are you?”
“I AM THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION”
OUR LADY IS SINLESS – SHE IS UNIQUE.
Death and corruption are the result of sin – so no Sin, no death and corruption.
Our Lady was the first to share in Her Son’s Resurrection. Her life was a life of extraordinary faith and trust in God’s goodness and love. “He will be called Son of the Most High, Save His People and rule over the House of David.” Yet He was born in a stable, forced to flee into a strange land, be rejected by His own people, condemned to death and executed as a Common Criminal. So again today we celebrate Our Lady’s faith and trust in the goodness and love of God.JUST AS MARY RECEIVED HER SON INTO OUR WORLD, HER SON RECEIVED HER INTO HIS WORLD.“The Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is His name.”
CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU!
GOD IS NOWHERE OR IS NOW HERE!
J “Billy, why do Catholics pay so much attention to our Lady?” “Please Miss, because she was Hand Made by the Lord.”!
J Why did God give you your mother and not someone else’s?” “Please Miss because God knew she liked me more than other people’s Mums do
And a gem to end!
Little Johnny moved down South into the country where there was no Catholic school. On his first day he was asked to say the prayers he knew. He said the “Our Father" and then went on to say the “Hail Mary”, he was told, “we don't want to hear about her”. So he began to say the Creed. When he came to “born of the .......” he came to a sudden stop. “Oh heck” he said “here she comes again - what shall I do now sir?”!!!
And a final thought for mums holidays –Everybody wants to save the earth – but nobody wants to do the dishes!!!!
PS The final nail in the ‘Heights Coffin’ NAT WEST closes next Wednesday!
