Mgr Anthony McNulty PhD VG

Ordained 1933

1933-1940 St Alban, Ancoats, as curate to the Italian Fr Fracassi. In 1940 he police arrived at St Alban's to arrest him the Italian parish priest for internment. Fr McNulty was left to manage the parish by himself for the subsequent few months, Fr Fracassi would later be killed on the Arandora Star.

1940-1941 Secretary to Bishop Marshall living at Wardley Hall, but like most of Marshall's secretaries he did not stay long

1941-1948 St Marie’s Bury, as curate

1948-1957 Hope Hospital, as chaplain

During his time at Hope Hospital, he lived in a house that was in the St Luke's parish and would also help out with saying mass at St Luke's like the hospital chaplains did before him and since.

1957-1967 Salford Cathedral, as administrator. Appointed VG in 1957 to succeed Cunningham who became Bishop, appointed Canon in 1963 and resigned in 1967.

1967 Retired and lived in Swinton, living in the same house as he had done for many years.

Died 12 August 1973
